Who We Are
Hood River Soaring is a nonprofit glider club founded in 2016 as an official chapter of the Soaring Society of America. We are passionate about sharing our love of soaring with the people who live in and visit the Hood River Valley. Our experienced pilots offer scenic glider rides to the public. We also offer a wide range of glider flying services to our members. Our youth program makes the sport of soaring more accessible and affordable to the next generation of pilots.

Our Mission
We promote the art and science of soaring by making aviation and aviation education accessible to all, including special outreach to youth.
We support this mission through a combination of donations, grants, membership fees, and revenue from scenic glider rides and related activities. Hood River Soaring is an Oregon non-profit 501(c)(3) educational, scientific, and charitable organization.

Youth Program
We believe that becoming a glider pilot is a unique opportunity for young people to develop responsibility and valuable skills that will help them soar in all aspects of life. Our organization invests a portion of the proceeds from scenic glider rides into our non-profit mission, which is dedicated to our youth program. We offer work-study credit and scholarships to young people ages 13-25 whose dream is to become pilots.
